The Artist

I create paintings that hold the same quiet resonance as a hymn lingering in the mind, where remembered lyrics continue to offer comfort and reflection.

Guided by my Christian faith, each work becomes a sanctuary for stillness, surrender, and return to divine presence.

A woman in a flowing, pleated, sheer dark blue gown is standing in front of a white wall, holding and interacting with a large painting of ocean waves.

I’m an oil painter based in New York City, creating contemplative works that quiet the soul and draw viewers toward divine presence. Music has long been one of my personal passageways back to God, and many of my paintings begin with lyrics that linger in my mind, which I eventually translate into compositions of atmospheric light and form. Each work becomes a visual meditation on surrender and safe return.

With a background in engineering and statistics, I paint with both precision and reverence, guided by an understanding of how light shapes form and how hidden figures and patterns reveal themselves through intentional observation and time, encouraging viewers to slow down and look more deeply. My practice merges structure with transcendence, exploring how beauty can become a conduit for stillness and inward renewal.

Working primarily through the language of water, stained glass light, and immersive space, I create paintings that feel like encounters within a miracle. Inspired by the emotional resonance of hymns and worship music, I approach each composition as an environment meant to hold the viewer gently, much like a song that quiets the mind in preparation for prayer.

My process builds upon the Old Masters’ tradition of indirect painting, reimagined to express the unseen. Through layered diffusions of opaque light, illumination emerges from within the painting itself, creating atmospheres of sanctuary and contemplative calm.
